EPS Haka

I enjoy performing in the Kapa Haka group.  I like shouting as loud as we want when we do the haka.  My teacher wrote the haka for the school.

Upside Down Art

WALT copy a picture by looking upside down.
Reflection:
I enjoyed this because it was fun to colour and draw the pictures upside down then see how it turned out.

Boomwhacker Music Lesson

In class we had a music lesson on how to play Boomwhackers.
The teachers were kids from room 19.
I really liked smacking the boomwhakers
I found it easy.
Next I would like to try a longer and harder song.

My Reading Prediction

I have learnt to use pictures to give detailed predictions about the story.

I liked that I put detail into my prediction by describing the dog and the way he looked.

I'm proud about how much I wrote.

Caleb S Basic Facts Speed Test T1

During the week we practise our basic facts for our homework. On Fridays we have a speed test where we try to complete 100 facts in 6 minutes 30 seconds. This graph shows my scores so far. I like this because it helps everyone in my class improve on their basic facts.  When I look at this graph I can see I made a big improvement then went down a little.

Art Face Portraits

Caleb S.

WALT sketch a face by following grid guidelines to make each feature on the face in proportion.

First we drew a picture of what we thought we looked like.
I thought my before picture didn't have much detail on it

After a few art lessons we learned how to sketch a grid across the shape of our face to help us draw each feature in proportion.
I thought my after picture was much better then my before picture because everything was in order and in proportion.  My favourite part about it was my end result.

Sensory Garden Recount

Reflection on my Recount -

  • Underline where you think you are in your learning of the sensory recount.
  • Remember you are just assessing how well you described your surroundings, using descriptive words or poetic devices.

Extended Abstract
I can help someone else to suggest ways to improve their own sensory recount.

Relational
I can add a poetic device to make it more interesting e.g simile, metaphor or alliteration.

Multistructural
I can describe using more than 2 senses in my recount.

Unistructural
I can describe using at least 2 of my senses in my recount.

Pre-structural
I need help to find words to describe what I see, feel, touch, or hear.

I have put myself at the Relational stage.  I chose this stage because I think I used different more than 2 different language features.

My next learning step is to work on including more language features into my writing.
